Another Funny from the tip shop, this time Tiny's at Mitchel. Noticed this rover in ther with a home made wheel, I've seen a few dodgy wheels in my life, but this one is pretty impressive! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/11/full-5013-4246-02112011002.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/11/full-5013-4247-02112011005.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/11/full-5013-4248-02112011003.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/11/full-5013-4249-02112011004.jpg) Timber Tire Madness!

I've never seen a backward-facing cylinder on one of those, only forward and leftward. I take it that snorkel is an afermarket kit. Is that a Pulsajet (92908) or Vacujet (92508)?

To be honest, I can't remember, as on the day, I did not have the room to pick this one up too, and it was chosen to be left, as it had been there a little while, and I have thended to notice these old blue rovers don't move to much there.
I'm hoping to get back before the week is out to see if I can't grab it, I do recall the year being 70's, infact it may well have been 70, I can't say for sure though.
Needless to say, if/when i grab this one, the wheel will be 'updated'.
Cheers Ty

I like that =D i have a couple but they arent that good.
The snorkel is stock, and the cylinder facing backward is quite normal.
The wheel is a work of art however.

The engine on my 1976 Victa 92908 is white, so that lines up with it being 70s. I'd be a bit surprised if it is as old as 1970, but I've been surprised before.

Well, if you like, if I get this mower, you can have the wheel, to put on whatever you like, or hang on the wall!
Grumpy, as I said, I could be wrong, it's been a little while and I didn't note it down.
Cheers Ty

Mr Davis, That wheel is no longer available but guess what I have one new one left in stock. You used to be able to buy just the tyres but unfortunatly I don't have any of those left.

Silly me, i threw out one of those wheels as the inside bit where the bearing goes had busted.
I know about the tyres but i was thinking along the lines of the swap being a pain the butt job and not worth the effort. Anyone done it???

I was out there on the weekend with etal, this one was still there, however, sadly I only had enough cash for 3 and it just did not make the cut.
I'm hoping to return this weekend with enough to grab this one, the engine is a 1975 92908.
Cheers Ty

OK, went out again on Saturday and Picked this one up for the princely sum of $20.
The handle is sloppy at the fold, which should not take to much to fix, the wheel needs an update, and the engine will need to be brought back.
Basic diagnostics at POS show spark and compression, so I should be able to get somewhere with this one.
This week will include cleanup, photo shoot, spoon-full-of-fuel test, carburettor service, tank flush and maybe a decarbonising if i get the time.
Cheers Ty

If the spoonful-of-fuel test is successful Ty, take a look at the PulsaJet's fuel intake screen, it may just be clogged up with grass. You don't have to do any more than separate the tank from the carburetor, tip the carburetor upside-down, and take a look at the pick-up tube. Of course you'll see the condition of the diaphragm when you do that anyway, and it doesn't take long to check that the mating surfaces are both flat, but bowing makes the mixture rich, not lean, so it won't be the problem.

My plan is to give the carburettor a full clean up and service, I have a passion for working with carbies, and getting them up to full function, clean and restored.
If the spoon test is successful, I will be swapping the carby tank setup for a known good, to see how that goes, with luck, that will mean i just need to do the carby restore, then service the engine.
The engine itself feels really good, so I'm hopeful about this one!
Cheers Ty

Sounds like a worthwhile plan, Ty. I suggest you go through the process from the manual, step by step, so you learn the whole thing. Here is the first page: http://www.tpub.com/content/recoveryvehicles/TM-5-4240-501-14P/css/TM-5-4240-501-14P_98.htmJust use the "next" button 4 times in all. After that you'd be getting into the choke-a-matic instead of the 92908's automatic choke, but read that also by all means if you feel like it.

Wonderful, Thanks Grumpy!
I'll close this one up now, as we are moving off the wooden wheel topic, and when work begins on this one, I'll start it a new thread in the correct area.
I'm excited about this one, as the restore on my 92908 Masport is in hiatus at the moment, due to confirmed crank damage, it will start again when i find time to sort out a new crank, but for now it is in storage.
This one seems like it may be allot more viable without major parts replaced.
Cheers Ty
