Why are these mowers so popular? They look very primitive to me.I way prefer all the models victa came out with in the 70s and 80s. Is it just because they are old? They certainly aren't rare as you see them for sale all the time and people want a kings ransom for the things!!Try $300-$500
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

You can pretend to ignore me or you can explain the mysterious appeal of these machines.

Well sorry ,I can't help you on that one.Why do you own a rotomo when there are much better mowers out there? You must be another collector of these things. Maybe you can share with me the appeal of them. There are an awful lot of dodgy looking ones out there with alot of non original parts, yet they want a king's ransom for what amounts to a mower cobbled together out of spare parts. A totally original one ,ok but people will pay for almost any complete looking one original or not. This I can't understand.

Gary Markwell, I have had a look at the picture that you sent me and the machine looks like one of the Villiers range of mowers. I have never seen a Rotomo frame that looks like that one. I have not yet been able to see my other colleague but I am sure he will agree. Once I have seen him I will let you know the outcome. Regards, Bruce

Gary Markwell, The motor on the mower is a villiers/Hurrican motor which was used on some victa mowers in the early days. If you click on this link you will see a parts list for one of the Victa rotomo mowers. Rotomo Regards, Bruce
