I'm new to the reel mower caper and got an old one cheap.
Runs fine but isn't cutting grass too well as it misses alot of it when you run it over.
Have tightened bolts that hold that metal thingie aganst the reel blades but only runs noisier and still doesn't cut properly.
Also ,can those wooden rollers at the front be easily obtained and replaced??
Am I just better off just taking the 125 off this contraption and using it on a rotary mower??it would be a shame.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Mowerfreak,

The front rollers will not be easy to get because of the age of the mower.

The cutting cylinder can be sharpened so that it cuts properly but I would be replacing the bearings and bottom blade.

You really need to know what you are doing as to roller mowers because if you don't know how to set the blades you will cause damage.

To have it repaired at a mower shop will cost you around $300 to $500 depending on what work needs to be done.
