Dear all,I collect mowers because I love the things.Don't ask me why,I have just been fascinated with all the different models Victa came out with over the years. Anyway,I recently aquired this Commando with powertorque series motor. it ran when i got it but throttle control was non existent. I pulled apart the carby ,making sure I re assembled it correctly. Engine went abit harder but throttle control was still non existent.it only does grasscutting speed. Also those stopper plugs are a ***** of a thing! So fiddly and i just couldn't get them to work so i have to block airhose to stop the thing. Oh I wish I knew what caused all this!!
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Thanks,I looked at that PDF scan for the carbys. Damn ,so many subtle modifications over the years, makes things difficult. Another problem is that the illustrations are not the clearest. Does anyone know a likely cause of the mower only revving at grasscutting speed? That will give me something to look out for off the bat.
