G'day, have got a 1980's victa ute with a power torque engine and fuel tank between handle bars. Base isn't too bad but the engine is worn out. (looks like has been run without a filter - grass in the crankcase and the piston/bore really worn) Was thinking of buying a cheap victa commando or similar with a power torque engine and swapping engines. Would it fit the ute base? Are the blade holder bosses the same?

cheers
matt

There is no reason why you cant swap it for another powertorque engine, unless self propelled the bosses are the same give or take a few cosmetic changes over the years.

G'day Rodeobob, have been using 4 stoke mowers for years, thought i might give something different a go. I'll keep an eye out for a tank for you. Actually a ute victa is on ebay at the moment somewhere down south, its got the same base/tank etc as mine but with a powerplus? engine on it. You might be able to get it cheap?

cheers
matt

Nah its ok, i have a tank here but if you fix mowers you can never have too many spares.
