Saw these Victas in one shed while the Bordertown Car Club was on a run to Horsham Sunday 14th August.
Have a close-up of the carby/head set-up of the oldest one - what model is it?

Well it just looks like a Model 2 to me.With the wrong carby on it.That is more a model 4 and onwards carby. The next older Victa is a Model 4 Standard. Both mowers have the wrong wheels on them.Did you get the engine number off the older one. That would be a better indication as to what model.Looks like the head has had a bit a belting around.

Thank you Blumbly,
Had a hard time getting the photos as the mowers were jambed alongside a row of vintage cars and I was only able to reach across between the bumperbars. Unfortunately I couldn't see the serial number. I will take a photo of my early Victa soon when I can get at it and wash off the years of accumulated crusher dust - it has tin inserts in the wheels.

Gooday vccomm,
Just noticed your query. Are you referring to the Lawnmaster or the couple of oldies at the start of this post. I dont know the differences - but reckon that Mr Davis would be the bloke to ask.

The one at the bottom was sold under more names and models than anyone could bare to count, they are all essentially the same apart from cosmetic and minor mechanical differences....

I agree with Joe.In-fact I have a few here, called Lawn-master, Craftsman and even commando. They are pretty much the same mower, just different names.I think it was just done to try and add some variety and possible sold at different prices.Making the customer think they were getting something different, but not really.Possibly just changing things like wheels and Air cleaners to make them look different.

Exactly, they would change the colour/shape of the cowl, some had ball bearing wheels some didnt, some had 7 inch rear wheels some had 8 inch rear wheels, many different colours. The higher up models of the mowers had better features though.

i believe that all of those mowers are technicly "commando" tho they aren't the classic orange cover gray base machine...

myself ive seen them as commando lawn-keeper craftsman mulch-or-catch kleencut (self cleaning base)and many others without names...

I assume you are reffering to the lawnmaster.

They came in lots of different colours and names.

I'd say that the one he means Bob.As far as self cleaning base.It was self cleaning chute.Which mean 3/16's of stuff all.You still have to clean the base.I guess chute refers to the tunnel won't block off.Just one of those dumb sales pitches just to try and sell them up.
