On trying to fire my Victa VC 160 (circa 1979)up on about the second pull the Zip starter cord 'kicks back' ie its wrenched violently back into the housing.....its almost broken my fingers!!!! Its certainly broken the plastic housing!!!
WHY????
Can someone help me before I use the use of my fingers??????
It has to be a timing fault.....

Also I'm having no luck removing the drum nut.....im holing the flywheel and hitting the spanner with a hammer as suggested in Gregorys Victa manual.....

HELP!

You should tighten up the blade plate nut and that will fix your problem.
