Hello all. I have an unusual problem with my Victa Mustang mark 3 mower. It will run fine flat out but if you try to run it at 1/2 throttle it will start backfiring & die after 30 seconds or so. It will also start backfiring if you try & open the throttle from 1/2 & either die or very slowly pick up revs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Can you check the following:

1. Remove the exhaust and make sure that the port is not blocked.

2. Check the fuel flow from the tank to the carby.

3. Try to run the mower without the muffler on to see if it rev's out.

Try doing this first.

Found the problem, the main jet was 1/2 blocked with gunk. Blew it out & it now runs like a clock
