Hi,

I am rebuilding a 2hp Briggs and Stratton (60100 engine) edger. On the parts list on the website, it list 3 different crankcase gaskets (different thickness??). How can I tell which one I need as the existing one is now in the bin.

Thanks.

Thanks. In this gasket set there appears to be 4 large crankcase gaskets? Do I only need one of them or are I missing something here??

Thanks.

Thanks Bruce.

So why do they have 4 in there? Is that for spares, or am I missing a gasket from somewhere?

The thickness of the crankcase cover gasket sets the endplay of the crankshaft. You need to use one or more gaskets of selected thickness to end up with an endfloat of 0.002"-0.008". This manual tells you how to go about setting this up:
