I've got a Erly eighties (I think) Victa power tourqe mower. It has been soldiering on for a long time and has finaly started to anoy me with unreliable starting & no engine speed variation(Throttle)available. It just idles allong and although it dose still cut the lawn I've decided to try and rtesolve it's issues. The piston, bore, rings and such seem in good condition.
I would be great full if you could send me details of carburettor and ignition settings (timing) I have a mechanical back ground and a workshop full of quality tools but limited funds as a result of a work accident.
Make sure that the ball end of your throttle cable hasn't slipped out of its retainer in the carbie. This happened to myself. You can check by pulling side cover off the carbie and moving throttle.
