I don't Know the specific pitch, but i have a couple spare if you can tell me how to measure the pitch accurately?

Or i could bring one along with this base, as i don't really deal with the side starters much (we are talking Victa full crank side starter, about 80-83??)

Cheers
Ty

you need a pitch gauge basically like a feeler gauge with teeth but there is a few different types ie. metric, bsf, unc, ect ect if you have one that would be great when i spoke to the local mower shop they said i could have one but they broke it getting it out apparently a very common problem.

There are just two types of thread pitch gauge: inch and metric. The inch one tells you how many threads per inch the bolt/screw/threaded hole has, and the metric one tells you the pitch (distance between peaks on the thread) in mm. In theory Australian-made equipment changed from inch to metric in 1970, but some degree of phasing-in was tolerated until 1988. However from the early 1970s, no new product would have had inch threads.

Thread gauges are not expensive - they are just a set of thin steel stampings pivoted on a rivet. I'm not too clear on how anyone could break them, unless some nut has started making them out of plastic.

Umm - you don't! The only way to use a metric bolt would be to drill and tap the hole.

When you say it like that, it seems obvious! But I can tell you it’s not so obvious when you’re having a dumb moment :P ... Man, do I feel like an idiot!

Dont feel too stupid.

All the bolt dumbos work for Zenith. The info on the pack is just a guide, its a lie to sucker the coin out of your pocket.

Bought some 3/16 washers. They have to be bigger than 5mm ID. Liars.
Got some 5/16unc nuts here, 13mm too small, 14mm too big. WTF, a 5/16 nut is meant to be 1/2 AF. 1/4 WW WTF its 2011 why you still making that?.
Got some 3/16 pop rivets. Steel ones are all good, alloy ones wont go through a 3/16 hole witout a lot of shoving and wiggling.
