I Noticed we had a thread running for those who wanted to show of the fruits of there completed projects (Lawn Pics) but how about somewhere to show us how those mowers got to be how they are, For those who are shed proud, and for those who would like to get some ideas for workshop setup-tricks from each other!

I'll start the ball rolling with my ad-hoc tool-shop!

So what do some of the other members workshops look like?

I Used to be in the same predicament, till we moved to this place (Still just renting) my only issue with this shed is the heat, its old, and being a shed, a heater does nothing, when i was restoring my last engine, it got down to -5 while i was working, and that in the shed itself (It was late, i'm an insomniac, which puts my work usual between 11pm and 6am) it was colder still outside!

I'll second that, this place is good, but the last 2 i was in the back of the garage (when i was allowed to be!), and before that i was under a tarp stretched between the house and a pump shed, prior to that, it was a series of carports.

I once lived on a property where there was no shed space left, so we made a shed by cutting the bottom of a leaky metal water tank, and supporting that on 4 posts, looked pretty shabby, but worked very well

Guess im lucky, ive got a big shed, but the bigger the shed the more crap you collect.

I rekon i must have 40 mowers here.
2 Deutcher slashers
1 Greenfields slasher
2 Victa ride ons
2 25" Murray ride ons.
Rover colt
Rover rancher
Whirlwind tiller
Half a dozen or so stationary motors/pumps.
Boxes and boxes and crates full of mower parts.

And my latest an old Greenfeilds with a G65 honda.

3 cars, old ute and 5 motorbikes and 2 or 3 more in bits.

Theres a 2m wide shed behind the shed and its full of boxed up car parts and spare mower engines.
And another shed 2.5x5.5m full of more boxed up stuff and all the mowers ready to sell.

Unfortunatley im up for a move soon and i doubt i will have the luck of finding a rental with anywhere near enough shed space.
Just my main tool box and 2 work benches leave just about no room in a double garage.

Not sure what im going to do.

Sounds like quite the collection, And a good set-up. Its a real shame about the move, Renting is a real bitch, I'm happy with my current set up, But whats next?

At least you are not in sydney anything with a garage is nearly impossible to get these days way too many applicants due to the severe housing shortage [keep in mind im in the campbelltown area around 35-40 minute drive into sydney when there is no traffic] and im paying more than half of my wage in rent for a place WITH NO BLOODY GARAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah ive thought about going back out country, but its got to be geelong. Thats where my daughter is, shes more important than garage space for projects.

Got a couple of cars to get rid of and a heap of parts to go with them. The rest is crap, easy come easy go. Then i could manage a double garage with the bikes and ute and mower stuff, im thinking, maybe a lean too for the mowers. If i get back into suburbia with neighbours it will be a daytime thing anyway. Not middle of the night like i am here. Spare benches and shelves can go to Dad, hes got a huge (old farm machinery) shed at his new place.
