I,ve had this machine for almost 10 years and it is now causing trouble. After using it for about 15 minutes it starts to run high and low and eventually cuts out.I replaced the spark plug and it worked well for a while(2 cuts of 30 minutes each) but is back with it's old trick. If I let it to cool down for about 30 minutes,I can continue cutting. The "revving" is also not what it should be as it does not run at a constant revs and you have to control it.The carb is a black plastic one. Thanks for your time and assistance.

I have forwarded you some information on the carby that might help you. Also check the flow of fuel from the tap as it could cause you a problem if the filter is blocked.

Bruce-Thanks for the information.I am still struggling with the machine. It still revs high and low after I've used it for say 20 minutes, and eventually the engine will stop running. It is a Super 80 series,160 cc two stroke. I have emptied the gastank and the filter inside the tanks appears fine with no visible blockage. Is a special tool(spanner) needed to remove the plastic nut inside the tank ?I,m sure this must be a gas supply problem,as I have noted that the fuel supply to the carb is not very constant.I look forward to your reply. Thanks Deon SA

Hi Deon Re running high and low. Maybe exhaust blocked and or vent hole in tank cap blocked Joe

Thanks Joe-Will give it a try, especially the exhaust,as I know that the cap is open.
