Ok I now have another victa that I have obtained, its not that old, but still has the black carby.
I can start the engine and after about a minute the motor will cut out, kinda like a fuel cut out. I replaced the black plastic carby with a known working carby and still the same problem, which has got me thinking that its not the carby that is the problem. So I ask anyone out there, if they know what else it could be? PS I think its a 125CC motor

Cheers
ekul

Can you check the 'O' ring on the plastic part that the carby connects to as it could damaged from taking carby's on and off. Also check to see that the plastic that is screwed onto the cylinder has a good 'O' ring behind it and is tight.

Good Luck
