There is an engine exactly the same as this under the brand name of stihl and also seen one under the name homelite.

Mine is yellow, the stihl is orange and the homelite red.

please someone put me out of misery and let me know what it realy is.

It is a McCulloch engine...

well i think i already know that as i did say in my post its a mcculloch.

But who makes them ? i know that some mccullochs were made by black and decker for example, definitely in the early 1970,s as i work for black and decker and saw them being made, some were blue branded black and decker and some yellow branded mcculloch. they were 17cc.

But this engine goes under many different brand names and was wondering who infact makes them.
on the castings there is no mcculloch branding that ive come across.

what i want to know is what mcculloch is it ? ie model name etc
and what cc it is and hp etc rpm full spec if possible.
i did think it was the proscraper as seen some called this on this site, but its not, its definitely not 28cc or 32 cc
its smaller. i was thinking it might be 23cc , but could be wrong of course.

McCulloch is owned by electrolux which also has something to do with Husqvarna and theres probably a whole list of whos up who and whos not paying to go with that. Not sure who did what to who and when they did it.

Was it parts for the engine or does it just interest you to know whos making what for whom???
Probably best if you spend your energy on 'why are we here' Unless of course there is a big point to the asking.
Not being smart mind you.

Husqvarna own Talon too, and seeing as some Talon 4 stroke mowers use an engine that is remarkably like a 3 1/2 briggs, it makes you wonder.......... Sometimes it's very confusing, hey.
