Hi all,
I have a model 40 (I think) with a small rubber friction drive wheel that is mounted on the motor output shaft. It is (or was) approximately 25-30mm in diameter. does anyone know if these are avaialable and where from? Or suggest any alternatives?
Thanks James

Hi JSY, Yes, James, you have a model 40 Scott Bonnar and the rubber friction wheel is part of the clutch engage/disengage mechanism for that model. I am not sure whether or not that part is still available (the model 40 was introduced in 1960) but I will PM you with a few suggestions. I would also like to give you a warm welcome to the forum. It's great to have another Scott Bonnar owner aboard.

James, If the rubber friction roller is slipping on your Model 40, a method worth a try is to lift the motor slightly by placing a washer under the three engine mounts between the engine and the base plate. This brings the roller into closer contact with the drum. Grant.

Thanks for the replies thus far. Unfortunately a large chunk has come away from the rubber. I am going to try and fashion something up and will post how it goes.
