hi.i have a power torque mower that has had a dud coil fitted hence no spark.i went to mower shop and they quoted me 160 for the coil with the module built in. they did sell me a coil and a module but i dont understand how to make it all work.any help would be greatly apreciated .regards mike

Ouch at the price of the coil, I usually sell them second hand for $20 or so.....

Anyhow To change the coil is simple enough, you need to remove the engine from the mower frame, flip it upside down and swap the coils over. The coil-flywheel magnet distance is the thickness of a business card. Replacing the module is as easy as drilling out the rivet holding it on underneath the carby, and reattaching the new one.

It is also adviaable to replace the rubber boot and sock where the two wires go into the back of the carb as they can be a big cause of no spark issues.

yeah i did that but it had the wrong coil and no module.i now have a new coil and module but at a loss how to set them up.i have fitted the new coil and used a card as the gap setting,and i dont know how to wire it

no worries guys i managed to get a coil with the module in it and all is good.i did think that the gurus here could have been able to give me the info i was after but it musnt have been done before .no matter if i work it out ill post a diagram for future use .thanks to those who replied.regards mike
