Scored this little one off the fella that bought my Tilt A Cut. He apparently took it to the local mower store as he was having problems with it. They told him it had a scored bore and he was going to throw it out. Funny though that the paint on any of the bolts are intact... ![[Linked Image from i31.photobucket.com]](http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c378/lxhatch/Power%20Tools/DSCF3538.jpg) It now runs quite well as the mesh in the carby was completely blocked with what looked like mud. The edger will only run while i hold the trigger down on the handle. It has a throttle like a mower as well. I thought that the engines idled until you squeezed the trigger which would make them go to higher revs for cutting? Any ideas? Josh

Josh84, Remove the muffler and check that it is clean and the exhaust port first. Next step replace the fuel filter in the tank and if you still have problems then you will have to replace the carby diaphragms. They have a flag type governor with a spring which keeps the idle speed up from memory. I am sure that we have the information in the parts list and manuals area of the forum. If not I will upload it when I return at the end of the week.

Ok i took the starter off and found 2 springs not attached to anything. One is long and skinny but still small and the other is thicker and short. Looks like they go to the plastic flap which hits the flywheel and in turn goes to the carby.. Time to buy a subscription!

Josh84 They can be a real pain to fix without drawings.

Hi Josh, mate, just before you subscribe, have a look at the post by Bruce "How to Access Parts and Manuals" which is the very first post in any topic on the forum. It will assist you and help avoid any hassles! Best of luck with your edger.
