Hi all,
The local rubbish collect is on just out side of my area currently and already I have scored 3 mowers. Imagine what it will be like when it is in my area! Anyway the red rover started 2nd pull after I put some fresh petrol in it, and now it starts first pull! I have a catcher somewhere that will fit it so its sorted [Linked Image from i675.photobucket.com]
Anyone have any info on this one. I presume its a sunbeam?
Its 125cc [Linked Image from i675.photobucket.com]
heres the logo [Linked Image from i675.photobucket.com]
The silver victa need a carby and a new coil, and the gold victa needed a coil, wind up starter, carby and less worn piston and rings which it got, now all it needs is a head gasket and it will run!
Anyway I think ill keep the Goldie and sell the others, hopefully some easy cash!
Regards Jay

Like a kid in a lolly shop!.. speaking of which.. some people moved out up the road and have left an old victa with the cover which completely covers the motor beside the house with the catcher.. i've left a note and it hasn't moved in 3 days... tempted to just take it! lol

Hi Jay and congrats on a good score, mate, you've done well!! wink
I have tried to get you a pic of a Sunbeam from the web, but to no avail....however I did get some info which may be of interest:
"In 1970 Victa became a division of the Sunbeam Corporation and began manufacturing the Sunbeam mower. Victa's takeover coincided with the release of the VC 160, the first rotary mower designed to catch wet grass with out clogging. By the mid 1970s Victa had moved into ride on mowers, lawn tractors, garden gear products, tillers and shredders."

It does seem very similiar to the Victa Corvette; here's hoping some other members can throw some light on it for you. wink
Also Jay for your info, if you log into Photobucket, select the first image on this post, click edit above the pic, and the edit screen will open, click rotate on the toolbar and the pic will be up the right way; click "replace" and it will take you back to the album....you just copy the [img] string and repost. You will need to edit your post to replace the pic. Easy Peasy!! wink
cheers2

Yeah that gold one is a Victa of some sort. Corvette type base but a Sheerline type cowl and tank. I have seem that logo before but it has me stumped for now. Maybe a Pace (Victa)?

Hi all,
Firstly thanks allot deejay! Im a bit computer illiterate when it comes to forums. But to the gold mower, its defiantly a 125cc victa. It has the torpedo exhaust and victa hubcaps ect. I dont really know allot about store brand / partner branded victa's but I do like this little unit! I can post some better pics taken with a proper camera (not my phone!). Other clues may include it has a red air filter housing, that has no filter instead fly wire type gauze around the inside. But what really makes me think is it has got 4 blades, which I have never seen on an early victa before. But as I said before it is not the original wind up starter, and the bolt pattern is different(squeezed it in there). I was thinking either sunbeam or pace too but I really dont know.
Thanks allot
Regards Jay
