Hi all
I am currently working on a Flymo GL47 hover mower. I cannot seem to remove the blade bolt. mad I have sprayed it with WD40 and penetrating spray but the bolt does not want to budge. Any ideas on how I could remove it? WTF

cheers2

VC Victa,

Try giving the head of the bolt a good hit with a hammer as it may re-leave the thread in order to undo it. cheers2

Hi Bruce

I tried hitting the bolt several times but still does not seem
to want to come off. Do you have any other ideas.

For jobs like that you really need a Rattle Gun, or a Hand Impact Driver.

G'day,
Try locking the blade against the base with a pair of vice grips then get the solid bar socket thing (not the ratchet the other one) place it on the nut and hold it in position. Then tap the end (or belt it if its that stuck) until is comes loose. Just make sure its centered and square so it doesnt strip the nut. If its still stuck whip out the blow torch and repeat whats up there but first pre heat it and you should be fine.
This works along side Bruces suggestion. The sharp blows unlock the bolt. This method has never failed me with any bolt yet.
