I am seeking advice before I purhcase a new saw to replace one that bit the dust.

I am looking for the following high center of gravity, preferably a top handled saw for ease of use one handed. The bar length needs to be at least 12" but 14 is a consideration since my old saw was a 14.

The saw will be used for the following: tree pruning from ladders, or from the tree; rough carpentry/demolition work such as cutting 4x4's landscape timbers etc, and removal of wood fences parts of roof lines etc also as a general use saw for rough carpentry work when no power is availble.

I am looking for a saw that is well made, will last me a long time and will stand up well to abuse. I saw a small homelite quickly meet its demise doing this kind of work so I am looking for a good saw. also the last factor is affordability I really dont want to pay over $300 (usd).

Hero of the Day,
I would suggest the Oleo-Mac 952 chainsaw as it has the over the top handle, leightweight and can take either a 12 or 14 inch bar. I will see if I can find the site so that you can get more information regarding it. At this point of time we do not have it listed on our site but in the next 12 months the site will have a lot more products with spec's so that you won't have to go to far looking and comparing.

Regards,
Bruce

Buy a Stihl
If you want a machine that wont let you down buy a profesional Stihl
You wont regret it
I am still using my 10 year old saw (commercially)!
