Hi Guys,

I am new here ... I have just taken my Scotty 45 out of the shed and the main drive clutch was seized. I stripped it out and cleaned up the cork etc etc.

My question is this; should the clutch cork have any lubrication on it such as oil or grease?

Thanks

Alistair

Many thanks for such a prompt reply.

I was almost tempted to put some oil on it as was slightly greasy and I thought it was the Cork / Tapered bearing face that was sticking. Turned out to be within the tapered bearing and drive shaft (hope that makes sense)

Anyway, put it all back together and clutch worked fine but no drive. Stripped it all out again and found that the woodruff key had fallen out as I was re-assembling.

I wasn't feeling the love for my Scotty this afternoon..... but it's all good now.

Once again many thanks for such a very quick reply
