hi guys ive got the above mowers and the 1543 charge light was on? ive taken out the bulb seems good now but what could it be. the 13 40 has no drive from the box what is the weak point in these maybe the diff. anny help apreciated.

From what it sounds I think you may have a sheared keyway. When the gear box was last driving did it make any noises? Firstly I would check all the linkages are still in tip top condition as I have found quite a few problem with split pin missing/bent.
Also is it the standard mtd gear box that is just forward reverse on gears and speed on belts? Ie: one control for forward and reverse and one for various speeds.

it has a peerless 205 box and you can spin the pully and shaft goin into the box with no effect.

The workshop manual for peerless transmissions is in the parts list and manuals area of the forum it covers all.

it wasnt the trans in the end it was just the keyway in one wheel and the diff sent all power to thar side, its away now.
