Hello, My LeyPower Brushcutter has the common KT12AD engine. It became impossible to start, so I put a kit through the carbi, it starts instantly and runs great. BUT, it soon runs out of fuel. The temporary fix is to squeeze the primer bulb ever 5 seconds. Its not sucking fuel. There two back-to-back gaskets at the carbi fuel inlet. No instruction as to which goes first. I placed the thin flexible (brown) membrane closest to the carbi and the black stiff paper gasket furthest away from the carbi. Not sure if I got it the right way around? Wondering if this is the problem? If I got it right, then it would seem that perhaps the fuel filter is blocked, though it looked clean, so I did not change it. Any help is appreciated.
Sounds like you have the gaskets around the right way ,one way to test , is gravity feed the carby with some clear fuel hose that way you bypass the filter and if it runs ok like that you know the filter or primer has a problem.
Another way I test them is to fill a cup of two stroke fuel and connect a new primer to the clear line in the cup of fuel and with the other end connected to the carby then if it runs fine you know where the problem is.
