Hi Maurice,
Would anyone be able to give me some info on a J.A.P. mower .
It's not a J A P Mower ,J A P made engines for mowers , Vintagemowers has a pic of a mower and
called it a J A P mower but this is wrong.
Link below for info.
https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.a...s/79292/re-loukon-lawnmowers-c1960s.html The below image was made by Loukon Engineering, of Carlton, NSW.
80 cc, 2 Hp 2 stroke motor.
The base you have the images on Vintage mowers is a Loukomatic ,original motor is a 4 stroke.
Cheers
Max.

It's very rare to find a base with the different casting at the back for the self drive parts Maurice. Cheers Max.

Hi Max. Have tried kirby lausen and villiers motors on the base no luck, do you think it might have had the model 0 or 2A on it. Cheers. Maurice.

G'day Maurice, Just making sure you checked the correct holes ,because they used slots on this base ,it looks to be right for the Kirby. Cheers Max.

Hi Max. Checked the sump holes to the base no luck, here is a photo of a victa lawnmower I rebuilt some time ago. It looks like the motor that would fit the Loukon base. Cheers. Maurice.

G'day Maurice, The Victa 4 star looks great, yes the Kirby-Lauson 4-stroke (125cc and 135cc) like the 125cc on the 4 star is what was referring to should fit the Loukomatic base. The Kirby Lauson engine is lifted with spacers when installed on the Loukomatic base.. Here are some measurements if you want to check. Cheers Max.
