Gday all, Stew here I am a Cox Momobile virgin….so bear with me.
Recently bought a 1963 Mowmobile ….completely original…minus the paint on the bodywork…peeled off the gal over the years.
Still runs and mows….with biblical understeer !
Paid $232.00 for it….6hp model it’s a bloody ripper !
Original Milwaukee B&S donk….
Is it worth much or just an old oddity?
Gunna restore it anyway just to preserve the history I figure….
Are any parts available anywhere?
Cheers

Hi Stew,

History of the Mowmobile here below.

https://outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/78250/owen-cox-mowmobile-c1963.html

They are worth a few hundred to mower collectors ,the 4 and 5 hp motors can be found second hand on
other mowers and you may still be able to get new parts like piston rings online and air filter, carby rebuild kit,
the 6 Hp motor may be more difficult to get parts for unless some 5 Hp parts are interchangeable.

If you needed parts for the mower excluding the engine (like Wheels etc) you would need to make them or buy another second hand Mowmobile to get parts from it.

I've never seen what a restored one would sell for ,just occasionally see them advertised for $300. or less
but at that price they are rough looking mowers.

Cheers
Max.

Cheers Max….
Doesn’t need anything really apart from a coat of paint.
Still has original wheels (which would be as hard as a bulls forehead)…..hubcaps etc
Needs a new seat but it runs and cuts fine…thought it was a bit of a 😆
Gunna throw some paint on it and ride it up the club for a few beers !
Thanks for the info Cheers
