I've only seen rusted out mufflers on the old 2 stroke Victa mowers I can't remember what colour they came out from factory.
I know the later models were silver but what were the older ones?
I am doing a mini resto project and I don't want to paint the muffler silver if it was another colour.
Does anyone have any images or brochures from back in the day. I'm talking mid 80s to late 90s

Yes I don't remember ever seeing the early PT muffler silver or painted black , from memory they were just darkened steel so flat black may be the closest.but matt black will be ok.

Yes I'll use VHT black exhaust spray. Apparently matte black has a slight sheen and flat black has none

After you burn it once, the sheen will be gone.
