I thought i would do a little letter box drop asking for old unwanted petrol garden tools etc. Got a call this morning to pick up a mower from up the road and picked up this Rover 460. The lady said they couldn't get it to work and it looked like someone tried to pull it apart and fix it with no luck.
So i put it back together put in some fresh fuel checked for spark and compression and what do you know.. It runs! I will give it a gurnie off tomorrow and have abit more of a tinker with it. I believe it has the wrong catcher but it still fits. I believe these mowers are still sold new?
JRS if that engine has ripples on the casing of the engine facing the catcher side then you have got yourself one of the china made Briggs & Stratton engines with the China made Rover frame.

Bruce

Hmmm ok it has a bent shaft which causes the whole thing to vibrate really badly. Is there an easy way to straighten these? I have the motor apart i just have to take the conrod off the crank and pull the shaft out. Its vibrated so much that it has cracked the chassis around the mount holes.
