Hi all....just a quick post , re this VICTA Cylinder mower I rescued from a near neighbour's trailer , destined for his next "tip " run . Gave it a bit of a clean , tested for spark , checked for Oil ...a shot of Starter fluid & it fired up.... Pretty complete , and original ....missing metal gas cap & CATCHER ! Exhaust is 'cactus" ! With a tank of fuel , it runs, self "propels , and clutch works but , slipping ....hopefully just adjustment ? So , main issue ATM , is sourcing a " Catcher"....you see them from time to time on auction sites , GT & FBMP, but never when your chasing one! A guy on E/Bay used to make them , but don't see him anymore ! Any help , would be appreciated... Thanks in advance... Mick
I can't help you RUFFCHANCE (except morally by replying to your post) but it's refreshing to see a new poster put up pictures of what they're talking about instead of relying on largely meaningless description by text only. This is your best chance on attracting helpful posts.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
With regard to the clutch slipping, I am guessing you mean at idle as the spring loses tension with age. Might have to get inventive with that fix
With regard to the muffler, you used to (up to last year) be able to get one through ga spares under part MUF757, now discontinued. Jakmax still stock under B1SB1274, round shape but fits.
Re catcher, they are a morrison chassis so an old morrison olympic catcher will fit, or even an old turner-morrison catcher.
