Nice haul, especially the Victa. Looks modern. Hope there's no missing parts this time.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

I sanded the flywheel for rust. Good spark. Started easy with drill. A bit of smoke. ...................................
The smoke died down after 5 minutes. I mowed the back lawn.......
On finishing I noticed the top engine bust was shot.......... looks like a few spare parts for me and a good base.

speedy, if you say the smoke died down after 5 mins it must have been a fogging machine when you first started it

NormK I think he meant the smoke died down after the filming stopped. That was probably during the five minutes.
I hope that noise died down a bit. It was terridly horrid!

Yes blowing smoke for 5 min. And noise probably the flywheel hitting coil, wonder how it even ran. I'll run it again, finish off lawn..... It cuts nice. It's not worth putting new top bearing? Are they pressed in or some other way? There was so much carbon on plug and even in head....

Time to bin it. After emptying the sump first.

I did the front lawn today with it. Smoked a bit after starting, but cut steady. I'll how many mows I get out of it......
The lawns are slowing with cold weather, but heaps of wintergrass with long seed stalks......

I mowed the back lawn, then the cloth plug I had in the oil filler blew out and sprayed oil everywhere........... I'm just using sump oil from my Commodore. See how long it lasts.
I want to keep the base as it might fit my Pope.
cheers speedy
