I was given one to use - I wanted to throw it in the bin within ten minutes. Only politeness prevented me taking to it with an axe and throwing it in the bin.
I still have bad memories of forgetting I am using a machine that is connected to lethal 240 volts and running over the all too flimsy lead. Lots of sparks and threw the trip in the meter box, but luckily no shock. The thought of just two thin pieces of insulation between me and death is enough to keep me well away from corded electric mowers. I've had enough near misses with the 240 volt hedge trimmer.
I was asked by a woman down the street if I wanted one her daughter bought and only used it once. I told her to put the catcher in her rubbish bin and I took the mower home and cut it up to fit it in my bin.
It would be Ok if you just had 5mtr by 5 mtr......... but that's how electric mowers started, the old push mowers, cylinder, rotary...... Don't want to fiddle and make something else, as 240 V not for the untrained.... Put it away for a rainy day.......... oops..... that could be trouble. cheers speedy

Years ago I was given an electric Flymo and it was the lead that put me off after giving it a quick try. There's obviously an art form to using a corded mower and I wasn't prepared to learn it!
Here's an Ozito I trash picked along with it's charger. I managed to power it with my Aldi brand Taurus Titanium impact driver battery. It's a very nice drill with hammer function that I use as my go to.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
