Hi Everyone, I'm very glad to find this forum after purchasing a SB 33 this evening, I have a few ideas for it that should see light I'm stoked to have my own SB after pushing one around for so many years as a kid, cheers for now.

Hi cephas and congrats on getting a second machine. You will now be able to make a complete machine from the 2 and have one to get spares from as you need them!! Well done!!

yes it was another one, though I left it there, he's scraping it for parts, only wanted 150 for it, was hard to leave it there

Hi cephas, If he's scrapping it for parts, did it have the chain case cover you were looking for? By the way, I realised that the model 33 is very similiar to the Scott Bonnar "Lawn-King". Here are some pics.... ![[Linked Image from i266.photobucket.com]](http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii247/deejay66_photos/scott1.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i266.photobucket.com]](http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii247/deejay66_photos/scott5.jpg) Looking at your pics, the first one you bought would be the one I would restore; using the second machine for parts.

hmm, looks very much the same, yes, he had the chain guard, in saying that he had most of it, it was well worn away at the bottom so I left it there. I agree with you about which one to restore, I also think the first one is the more likely candidate and it has the better motor. Is there anywhere you know of where I could reference to be able to say this mower is 'this' or 'that' I look at that lawn king and say it's the spitting image

Hi cephas, Great to see that you have your project on the move! Mate, as far as the 'this or that' is concerned; you have 2 genuine Scott Bonnar Model 33's (as per your ID plate attached to each mower). I am led to believe that these were the forerunner of the popular Model 45 and share some identical features. As for the "Lawn King" which appears to be a Model 33 with a different colour paint job and badging, may have been produced by Scott Bonnar for a particular reason... eg. a company such as David Jones or Myers; for export to say New Zealand or some such.....unfortunately records are scarce and the now parent company Rover can't supply any info on the early days of SB Hoping this might throw some light on the matter.

I found a local mob by chance that manufacture catchers, they're doing me a new catcher for $130, I'll post a pic next week, they're called Needham T & Co

I picked up the catcher yesterday and they've done a really good job of it, I've also sold the second SB33 that I bought.
