Hi folks,
This is my pressure washer I bought at Aldi several years ago and I made a mistake and stuffed something up.
I thought it would be a good idea to run hot water from the hot water tap though it but it's stopped shooting out the water at high pressure when the trigger is depressed. It now just makes the same humming sound as if the trigger isn't being pressed with a slow amount coming out the end.
I think I might have melted away essential grease for a mechanism inside by passing hot water through it.
What can I do?

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hi MF

Probably melted something in there. Would expect most major bits to be metal or aluminium, so my bet is on a part of the unloader valve (opens when you let off the trigger to prevent over pressure).

Now its open all the time there is no pressure at all

Anything over about 40deg on these is a big no no

Hi Tyler,

I estimate 80°c. Is it worth attempting to dismantle? Otherwise exxy l lesson.

G'day Mf and Tyler

(Unless you have already tried this below )

The first thing I would do is remove the high pressure hose set+trigger gun then turn the power on
when the supply water is on and connected then see if the pressure washer pushes water out at a
higher pressure than no power connected ,if it does you know there is nothing wrong with the unit
and just the wash gun needs repairing.

Cheers
Max.

before you pull anything apart, remove the inlet hose fitting, theres usually a small inline filter behind it, check its not clogged/clean that before you go crazy
