Hello
ODK steam lovers
Steamfest is held annually over the long weekend in March.
Held in the town of
Sheffield, located 23 kilometres inland from
Devonport on the north-west coast of Tasmania. It’s a pretty town in
the shadow of Mount Roland.
Apart from being an important dairy farming area, its modern claim to
fame is …
murals … more than you can poke a paint brush at.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheffield%2C_TasmaniaI visited Steam fest today and I loved it!
It’s an old-fashioned farm show going way beyond the steam theme.
Old machinery and cars were there, farm machinery, animals, side shows,
pluto pups … There was an upright piano that shot flames into the air when
played. You get the idea …
The event also celebrated 75 years of
Massey Ferguson, and
150 years of railways in Tasmania. There were swear-word loads
of Fergies there!
