A set of pinions (4130 640 7301) is available from Stihl here and should be available Stihl on your side of the big pond. The last list I have was 71 usd. But not it is easy to get these FS gearbox part as you got to heat them to 140C in order to get the bearings out. per the service manual.

You may just want to find another used FS gearbox.

The other option is to try one of the generic gear heads you can get on ebay.

I should know (as I have a bull handle FS86 and have had the gear head off) but if it is 7 or 9 tooth they are fairly easy to come by. Bu some part of me says its solid square drive

If I was in this situation I would be looking at fitting a shaft from a dead straight shaft unit, as I have plenty of bits to experiment and play with but that is just me

Its a straight shaft bull handle got the bearings out easy enough with out heat put a bolt just slightly larger than bearing hammered it in gently screwed it around then pulled on it of course it came out bearing stayed but was lifted off its seating position then got a long shaft dyna bolt that fitted in the bearing hole screwed it down till it was wedge inside of bearing and pulled it out , yes the teeth are 15 on the gear that comes in from the side on an angle and 20 teeth on the main pinion gear solid square drive but i cant find any after market ones that say they fit a fs 86 or an fs 106 which use the same head and gear but will keep on trying thanks for your help regards Damian
