Worked on a power torque the other day with the boys. Throw away piston on what must have very few hours on it. Fitted second hand piston and rings but was still over speeding.. Engine was choked with carbon. Four blades fitted with this machine, is this normal? I thought they were just spare lugs, when you have thrown the others out. Suspect the user pushed it too fast in high turf. Any ideas guys?. A so called mulch mower.! Nice wheels! Crankcase pressure seems OK.

Gomower,

If it is a mulching mower yes it should have 4 blades.

As to the over reeving did you check the ring gap when you replaced the piston and rings (ring gap should be between 10-17thow).

Check the top "O" ring (the large one) on the starter assy as it could be leaking causing the mix to be lean.

Check the carbie "O" rings as well (you have two) and make sure they are in good condition. cheers2
