Evening ladies and gents,

So, I shall leave my other posts to stew and move along.

1) 3F carb rebuild

So, my carb won’t stop shooting fuel out of the tickler hole/flooding the engine. This may well be my own stupid fault. The tickler has always been dodgy since I got the mower, you had to give it a bang to stop the fuel coming out once it was primed. I stripped the carb apart, cleaned everything, and possible made matters worse by pulling the small hard wire that held the tickler on place out. I put it back as best I could, but now, the fuel just won’t stop.

Any ideas? I have the lovely fully labeled diagram of the carb thanks to one of you posting it, but I’m a very very new person to anything mechanical.

2) piston cylinder port covers.

So, being the fool that I am, I didn’t read what I could find of instructions and have stripped/cross threaded the bolt on one of the port covers, by putting the wrong nut on and being in a very bad mood, forcing the b%$#@rd thing on.... sigh. Do I now have to beg/borrow/sell a kidney to get a new cover with bolt, or is the bolt replaceable once I remove the port cover? I have a complete engine gasket kit coming so need to pull the two port covers off anyway.

3)pins/pegs/etc what ever they are called, that run from the bottom of the piston cylinder to attach to the engine. I have a cross threaded nut (another my fault this time) so when I try to remove it to remove the cylinder, the pin etc just turns and as it has a bolt on, it’s too long to remove.

Help

Many thanks for all the help everyone. It really means a lot to me
