Hey peoples,
So, after a trudge into Sydney to the state library, and having the lovely staff running around their onsite storage for over an hour, I can safely say that there is NO proper technical parts list, that shows things like bolt specs, etc, in their collection for any of the early Victas.
I have done a Hail Mary and sent an email to Victa, but after speaking to someone there today I think all hope is lost. Apparently they managed to destroy almost all of their historic archive of technical drawings, manuals, and other materials relating top the models up till the mid 60s during their last move.
The only other faint hope is that somewhere out there on a shelf in an old workshop or mower repair shop there is a copy of the parts guide for the early models.
This is really disappointing on many levels. The biggest for me is that I was hoping to be able to produce and sell packaged bolt replacement kits for each model. That’s now a no go as I only have a 5 special so I have no way of knowing what bolts the others need.
Does ANYONE have this old parts list?? I really am begging.

Hi Scott,
You're pretty much out of luck there; Victa's dealer parts lists never gave full fastener dimensional specs [unlike say Honda's parts lists], in either of the 'Green Books' [a two volume set, that came in green ring binders] that were the master parts lists back in the 1970s. Only part numbers.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Victa could still supply most parts for their 1950s models - except for superseded items like the 9B blade disc.
My family's OPE business still had NOS blades, bolts and bushings for the 9B, but we would just fit a complete 9C assembly to any older mower that came in for service, needing replacement blades. Victa supplied the 9C discs with cutting blades already fitted, for a good price.
Cheers, Gadge

But there had to be a list that told you what the various part numbers mean. That’s what I don’t understand.
