Hi to all. New member from tassie daniel going by the name RustyNuts. Bit to learn yet navigating the site but it looks great and well worth it. Im a vehicle mechanic and welder. Always been into a variety of vintage mechanical large and small. I picked up a very well kept late 50s victa 18 and another basket case and spent time making a great original working example. Would like to find access to couple more parts Im having trouble to find, namingly points and condensor. Look forward to mingling on other projects i pull apart. We often have a question, and if i can shed light for others then thats great. Hope christmas has been kind to all and we all got another quality power tool to unwrap.

Hi RustyNuts, Welcome here, we have a bit of fun to keep us amused. Any reason you want points and condenser, for originality or do you just want it to be able to run. If that is the case just fit an electronic module, saves a lot of problems

Gday Norm. Thanks for making touch. Well I do always like original myself if that can be obtained easily enough. Sometimes as Ive found many parts are easy to come across however I have no idea if points and condensor are avail in numbers out there. If so i would keep original for now. Modify when ultimately needed. The mower goes very well however the ocasional spark splutter. Just plan to run say once a year on a good bit of lawn and put away. I searched the net and ebay and these electrical parts so far avade me. If youve any contacts I would so apreciate. Otherwise your very right I will lead to the path of electronic module.

Hi Rusty, I probably have new points and condensers here but Aus Post is the killer. If you convert it to electronic the only one who will ever know is you. You just remove the fanwheel where the points are and put the module in there. You can either leave the points in place or take them out whatever you want to
