Hi.
Heres pics of the two bases that I have and a catcher ready to paint sitting in primer. Forgot to knock the dents out of it but it looks great so far. Its got a few holes in the bottom I'm going to patch up with tin.

I would like to buy a new +020 oversize piston and rings set as I'm overboring one.

Should I be considering boring out a full crank cylinder head? Or is that a no-no? can they work like new with just a new piston and rings? The cylinder wall does have a fair bit of wear.

I already bought the cylinder hone tool. Didn't spend much.

Would be nice also to know where to buy a piston for a full crank, I can only seem to find power torque pistons for sale on eBay.

One engine is a '73 160cc and the other is a '78 160cc. The covers for them are one is a green series 70 corvette and the other one is a red utility. Series 70 Mark IV

I'm thinking I should be using the base in the first pic with the Series 70 green Corvette cover and the '73 motor.

Notice in the 2nd pic that the base has red/orangeish paint coming through, I think that one is meant to be the red Utility.

I'm not sure what paint I should be using on the bases. Green obviously but whats its name? I do have some Rustoleum Colorbond Mangrove in Satin Finish which is pretty close. I might use this if I cannot find something closer. I also have some Rustoleum Camo Army Green I could use:
https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/rust-oleum-aerosol-paint---camo-army-green-340g/539614.html

Also should I be using a flapper disk sander or one of those synthetic dealies or a ryobi multi tool for sanding back aluminium? Obviously wear a mask and eye protection and don't use a wire wheel, right?

Thanks.

Hi CaptnK,
The pistons for powertorques are the same for the full crank. They are the same piston. They are backward compatible, i.e. the latest model powertorque piston will fit directly into a full crank, but an original full crank piston wont fit in a powertorque because the ring end has a propensity to foul on the transfer ports due to the location of the ring dowels.

Hi.

Thanks for your reply. I'll order in a new piston and rings.

A typo on the "Rustoleum Colorbond Mangrove in Satin Finish" in my first post. Its meant to be "White Knight Colorbond Mangrove in Satin Finish".

Just wanted to fix that.

Whats that small pipe and hole welded on the intake pipe of the cylinder head for? They often have plastic or rubber caps over them to block them off?
