Hello ODK history lovers
Masport garden products are the best known of the New Zealand
lawnmower brands and they have been lawnmower makers since
the 1930s.

The Masport Monarch was a 1970s and 1980s 26” walk-behind
(pedestrian) rotary slasher-type mower that could be morphed
into a ride-on [with sulky attachment].

A later version would morph the pedestrian Monarch into a
fully-fledged ride-on – the Masport Monarch Rider.

This brochure is from my collection and it is in good condition.
Note the optional sulky seat.

PART THREE – The Monarch Rider
It is not common that a design could be a pedestrian machine,
a ride-on via a sulky accessory, but then be adapted to
become a ride-on lawnmower! This was a clever design.
