There are no kinks in the fuel lines. A pin hole is possible (there is an air bubble in the priming bulb which does not go away). There is no fuel tank filter that I can see. One of the fuel lines appears to be just pushed into the fuel tank without any nipple or filter. This line connects to input side of the priming bulb. The other line from the fuel tank has a nipple and connects to the bottom of the carby. The output from the primer connects to the top of the carby. I'm thinking that these two lines could be the wrong way around!
Thanks for your help. I'll replace the fuel lines and see what happens.
I have replaced the fuel lines and installed a new carby kit and spark plug (I was at the shop anyway). It is still not running all that well (it ran for about half a tank of fuel and then stalled). There is always an air bubble in the primer bulb. I'm out of ideas!

Anyone?
If you don't have a filter in the tank you will have problems all the time.
Below is a parts list of the tank, fuel lines & filter.

Easy way to test if you have the hoses are on correctly is to only leave the hose that has the filter in the tank connected to the carby.
Then the other hose that goes from the carby to the primer put it on one side of the primer and then prime. If the fuel is forced out the other outlet of the primer it is in the correct position but if not put the tube on the other side and fuel should come out of the other outlet.
Did you replace the screen filter in the carby?

I have pulled the carby to pieces a dozen times - I cant find any filter.
The current symptoms are that it starts perfectly but dies after 30 seconds. The primer bulb always has bubbles. There are no leaks in the bulb or fuel lines.
The screen is on the pump side (the one with the single screw in the cover) it is a hole about 1/4" in diameter with a screen in it. Remove and replace it as the mesh is too tight in the weave and fuel gets blocked causing it to reduce the fuel flow.
