So the first one up in the collection is a Scott Bonnar 35. It’s in good running condition and pretty much original apart from the previous owners “Interesting” paint job.
Cheers
Batimus.

G'day Batimus
It's impressive that you have a first model 35.

My view is that these were the best SB statement on the 'utility' lawnmower.
It was clearly Victa 'inspired'.

Any thoughts on the SB engine?

Cheers

Hi Jack

My thoughts on the Scott Bonnar 2 stroke! Honestly it’s a great motor but not really suited to a utility motor, Victa had this motor beat with at least triple the horsepower. It does bog down very easily, that also might be me having big expectations for utilities. All in all it’s a little quieter, a lot smoother, but sacrificed HP to the Victa. Oh and the engineering workaround on the starter being so close to the fuel tank was brilliant for its time.

Cheers
Batimus.
