I've been given a Victa Utility mower for repair and can not find out what sort of Utility it is exactly so that I can go and get some spare parts for it.Here's a brief discription of what it's got:

1/ It has a red/orange base.

2/ NO engine shroud cover.

3/ Fuel tank is black plastic and is mounted up on the handle.

4/ It shoots out the grass on the right hand side of the base via a hinged door/flap.

5/ The muffler is mounted on the front of the engine with the exhaust being directed through a cut out in the front of the mower base.

6/ It has a LM type of Carburettor.

7/ I think the engine is a Power Torque type @ 160cc.

8/ The engine has the following numbers stamped on it:
6N72492A or it could be EN72492A and the numbers 055 86 are stamped into the engine.

I tried to 'upload' some pictures but was unsuccessful, will have to try and learn how to do that at a later date.Any pictures that you guys might have to show me would be greatly appreciated.

Sheriff,

I will take a punt on the model which I think it would be is a Victa Professional 460 Utility made around 1986. This model had a red base unlike the craftsman which was a green base.

Here is a LINK to one like you are talking about on ebay.

Hope this is of some help. cheers2

Thanks Bruce, that appears to be the one I'm talking about. I can only just make out the position of the muffler in the photo but yes I think you are correct.

Was I correct in saying that it has a Power Torque 160cc engine?

Are parts still available for this model of Victa? I need a upper engine shroud and a new ignition lead.

Whilst using it the other day it caught fire and melted the ignition lead. I think the fire started from dry grass accumulating around the cyclinder head, when I get it apart I'll learn more about how it started!

As drjbeam has said the parts are available and the one that I had the link for is not a power torque engine.

If your muffler is like the picture below then it is an older model.

Ok, I may be able to supply a cowling cheaply, I need confirmation on whether it is a powertorque or not though.

A photo of your machine will help a lot.

Cheers.

I have refitted the axles and some decent wheels, the height adjustment, etc and gone no further as most of my shed is half packed up.

Now that was fire damage! lol.

Bruce,

The picture of the muffler you have posted is not like the one on my mates mower. It is held in place by two metal clips, one upper and one lower and not by bolts.

With the info that I posted earlier, can you confirm whether it's a Power Torque 160cc engine or not? The engine is black in colour for what it's worth.

Sheriff,

Below is a picture of a power Torque Muffler which will confirm that you a power torque motor.

Thanx Bruce for the above picture, yes that is the one!

Now I've spoken to Victa today and what I need is the following:

Part Number EN72921A Cowling Assy-Black (No longer available from Victa)

Part Number EN72920A Sub Cowl-Grey (Available from Victa)

Part Number EN72917A Air Duct (Available from Victa)

I need one each of these items to finish the mower off as all of these items are missing. If you can assist me with any of these items then please let me know what the cost would be posted to 3089 in Victoria.

I believe the Model of the Mower is a Victa Utility Pro 460 with the 160cc Power Torque engine. Being the Pro series it has the fuel tank mounted on the handles and not part of the cowlings.

Thanx again for your assistance.

Sheriff,

I was right on my fist post regarding the model which was good. As to the parts it should not be a problem to supply. cheers2

I just double checked I can do cowling, top cowling and your ignition lead if you wish. Bruce would be one to get parts off though as postage kills me out in the sticks here.
