Not seen one of these before and thought the stencil brands were earlier models ? but wait there's more, the sticker under the Victa sticker I would presume say's Charger, didn't wan't to peel it right off as it's a bit brittle and the saying that sprung to mind was, Allo Allo what have we here Guvnor ! Sorry but accidentally deleted the picture showing the charger sticker.
I would have thought it near impossible to put a bar blade on incorrectly !!!!!!!!!!
I am willing to bet there will be another Allo Allo what have we hear 'Guvnor' when/if it starts and surges due to those damn bar blades. Sure it hasn't hit something and bounced off of the blade boss (admittedly probably due to the owner). Sorry, but it just makes me sad they put the victa name on these things.
I don't know how much they were new, but surely it would have been better to put a few more $'s on a Victa vantage (Still a chinese engine but at least swing back blades and a meaty blade plate)
The holes look sort of like a masport quick cut - would be good if one of those fitted
Anyway, a good find even if you just rip the engine off and toss everything else
Spent 20 minutes on it doing the usual, this was another of the Briggs practically dry sump models but decided to put some oil in against the manufactures recommendations. Started first pull, not a hint of smoke, no surging, runs great. Wonderful engines that defy the punishment given to them. Not sure what to do with it, I haven't seen another one like it, even though it's an el cheapo I sort of like it. Keep or move on ?
wce, nothing wrong with those motors, only thing that lets them down is the useless bar blade, put a decent blade carrier on it and they are a good motor
