Hello ODK history lovers
The great New Zealand lawnmower maker Masport [Mason & Porter Pty. Ltd.]
has had a continuing presence in Australia from the post-war era.

For a period – some part of the 1970s – some Masport mowers were sold
here as Vulcan- Masports; a commercial arrangement between New Zealand’s
Masport and Vulcan Australia meant that a Masport presence was made possible.

There must have been clear naming rights…

It was a limited range, but the brochure does make the claim that these
mowers were “Manufactured by: Vulcan Australia Limited …”. Doubt!

At best, these would have been locally assembled.

A limited Vulcan range is the clue here. Masport Whirlwind Pty Ltd
of Moorebank, NSW was also offering Masport products from the mid-1970s.

The Vulcan-Masport 18” machines were really Masport President models.
The Ambassador and Rotarola were top-end models.

PART TWO – the Vulcan-Masport Brochure
This brochure is from my collection and it is in average condition.
Beggars cannot be choosers here.

I preserve the hand-written prices of the 18” mowers on the last page.
