Hello everyone, I have been a member since December 2019 and finally I am getting around to introducing myself after 2 graduations , an 18th and a 21st, 2 birthdays in December and another 2 early Jan. Ch- ching. I am or was an Industrial sewing machine mechanic in my earlier years which spawned my love of how things work and mechanics in general. I have had a nose for the smell of Two Stroke since my Yamaha YZ125G motor cycle, which was also in my earlier years and became addicted to the Victa mower when offered a Mustang 160 WA150A0 in pretty good nick by my Fathers neighbors son, who's mother had passed, for $50.00. Didn't know what i had for a while or until the Rover with B&S, I was using at the time stopped running for some reason mid-mow so i dragged the Victa out of the shed mixed up some fuel and carried on. Long story short the primer bulb split on the Victa, decided to give it an overhaul, got on the net and replaced all the standard kits , carby, decompressor and fuel lines etc etc. Hasn't missed a beat. More recently my Father's,once again, friend was cleaning out his shed to move to a retirement village and wanted to get rid of some of his gear one of which was a CE909A8 Tilt-a-Cut Full Crank Edge cutter. My Dads words were verbatim as he showed it to me sitting in the shade clothe covered shelter in his backyard pouring rain were, " If you don't won't it Barry said take it down the tip and throw in on the pile". "No no" I replied "I will have a look at it and see if i can make it run again". Tore it all apart while staying at the outlaws during moving house, kitted , painted some, timed and started. Runs well but still having trouble with the starter cup and pawl but i will forum that one for some tips. Even more recently i was down the dump markets looking for something my daughter wanted in the furniture line to make into an indoor birdcage when walking passed the mower section i spotted another Tilt-a-cut ( CE909A1 ), dirty as but intact with $15.00 on it. With my hand still shaking i gripped it and didn't let go until i got back to the truck and loaded it on. Pulled it all the way down, everything in pretty good nick including the bore and piston with all original nuts and bolts, Cleaned, kitted, painted and started. I will attach some pics. That is my Victa story in brief to date. Happy to be part of the likewise thinkers. Hey Phil, Welcome aboard. I have never had the privilege of using a tilt a cut. I am guessing it operates as a motorised edger? In any case, that is a very nice looking unit you have there.
