Just taken delivery of a Ransomes Mk4 in excellent condition, and it has plenty of compression - even the wooden handles are in great condition. I'd purchased it just before Xmas, and I guess that's some compensation for losing my recently restored Allen Scythe, destroyed in a bushfire at my place on 30 Dec - along with everything else except the house! When my shed gets rebuilt and I get some tools I'll give it a thorough clean and make a grass catcher for it, as I do intend to use it and make some lawn again.
If anyone has any dimensions of the grass catcher that would be appreciated as it doesn't look too difficult to fabricate one. I have one photo and should be able to scale from that but I really need a photo of the attachment bracket to the mower as it can be adjusted to several levels, and that could get fiddly.
Hi Ruggers, Sorry to hear of your losses but sounds like it could have got a whole lot worse, loosing your house would be so hard to handle. Also sorry I can't help with the Ransomes either.
Thanks for the photos, it looks a simple enough task to make the brackets for the catcher after all. I'll keep you posted with progress although it may be some months before I get a new shed.
