Problem on further inspection of the flywheel the keys are only formed by the aluminum being compressed and raised to form the key. cheap production process. thus I think i need a new/secondhand flywheel. any ideas where to get?

All at 97,
A new flywheel is expensive I would be trying to get a second hand one and when putting it on make sure the nut is done up tight otherwise you will do another key.

Bruce

All At 97, If you cant get another flywheel it might be worth trying "loctite" on the shaft & the flywheel nut. It should hold ok. cheers gmax

Problem solved Removed a small amount of the old aluminum key so as to get good purchase when using small amount of
Selleys Knead it epoxy putty to replace the old key. Then just put the flywheel back on, Tight as possible. when putty set (couple of hours ) re assembled the machine, and fired it up,
WENT FIRST TIME.
Thanks all

Bruce, I would try that for sure, nothing to loose, being expected to buy a new flywheel just because the key shears off is a bit rich!! cheers gmax
