Hello Spring - you are most welcome as you tease us with your promise of warmer temperatures and bring colour into our World. Soil temps hit 18C.

This weekend is all about kick-starting the lawns and is as simple as adding the first application of fertiliser (synthetic for that faster response), some kelp and Phosphorous to give the roots some assistance and adding a few soil amendments of humic granules and a wetting agent. Fert and P applied with the trusty old Scotts hand spreader and liquids laid down with my newly constructed battery sprayer... Put in about half an inch of water even though rains are expected.

Next weekend will focus on gardens.

TC.

Hello TheCount HAHAHA
I love the language of your posts - very poetic!
You've got talent and like story telling.

Living in Hobart, Spring has a special significance for me.
Everything changes!

It's clear why mower makers introduced new models in Spring.

Cheers

p.s. Maybe you could coin a poem "7/8 September"?

OK - challenge accepted. Let me know if it passes for light entertainment….

If I give you fish and chips…… Nope, can’t use that, already taken..

If I give you half a crown……. Nope, taken too…..

There once was a girl from…… Ah, better stop there…

Hard to stay on topic but here we go:-

We welcome Spring with warmth and colour
the sky now clear, whence earlier was duller
Flowers begin their wake up dance
insects close ranks awaiting their chance

This is the time we start work on the lawn
derived from folklore when Victa was born
Its alone time, me time, no need to cling
I know what I’m doing it’s on Outdoorking!

With Bonnar and Cyber and all of their mates
sharing info and tips on all topics and makes
Back to the business of feeding this addiction
I’ll fert the lawn now and soon use my new addition

A Scotty reborn into a new verticutter
she slices through thatch, a hot knife through butter
Must nourish the soil and prep for a hot streak
with humic and kelp the future’s not bleak

Test the poly pipes and flush out the crap
must water it in you know, all this and all that.
Leave plenty of time when the hard work is done
to spend it with family - you know, our loved ones.

Cheers,
TC.

G'day TheCount and wce

This is a late reply - I have been touring my home state for a couple of weeks.

Thecount, I have thought about this and am astounded at the diversity
of members and their interests. You are certainly a wordsmith.

Members love it, and it is an antidote to the BS of social media.
Good writing can bring a smile to the dial, but it can make us think!

Your posts are a timely reminder that members are more complex, and
garden machinery is just one interest. Hallelujah!
